“THE FARNSWORTH TRACK” – Sat 3rd Sep

MCYS Walking Group

JOIN US THIS SATURDAY, 3RD SEPTEMBER, FOR THE NEXT LEG OF OUR WALK – THIS TIME “THE FARNSWORTH TRACK” ON THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF THE PENINSULA.

The Farnsworth Track is part of the 26km Coastal Walk and links London Bridge with the Portsea Surf Beach along cliff tops via two scenic look outs. The walk is identified on signage by the round Hooded Plover symbol.

Depending on the tide, we’ll complete a 3km round trip by walking along the track and returning along the beach. The beach section is best attempted when the tide is out but can be completed when tide is high by walking on narrow strip of soft sand.

At London Bridge, a steep ramp leads to the beach where amazing rock pools are visible at low tide. A public toilet, drinking water and lookout are available at the car park.

Meet us at 10am in the London Bridge carpark at the beach end of London Bridge Road, Portsea.

BYO – Thermos / Drinks / Morning tea to enjoy in the picnic area after our walk.

RSVP to Michelle on 0433 59 6151 or to social@mcys.com.au so know you’re coming!

If you don’t feel like walking the whole distance, you can just enjoy the spectacular views from the lookouts or take a short walk along the beach, then stay to enjoy morning tea with us (we should be back around 11am)

New members and friends very welcome!
