BAY TRAIL WALK – EXPLORING POINT NEPEAN TO FORT NEPEAN

JOIN US THIS SATURDAY 9TH JULY AT 10AM TO WALK FROM THE POINT NEPEAN QUARANTINE STATION TO FORT NEPEAN – COMPLETING THE LAST LEG OF OUR MCYS BAY TRAIL WALK!
Don’t feel like walking?  Join us anyway on the hop-on hop-off shuttle bus!

Point Nepean National Park sits on one of the most treacherous coastlines in Victoria. An estimated 130 shipwrecks lie in the Port Phillip Area with over 50 reported to have occurred in The Rip, a triangle bounded by Point Nepean, Point Lonsdale and Shortlands Bluff.

We’ll take Coles Track to Fort Nepean and explore Australia’s best example of military fortifications and engineering with extensive tunnels that connect the historic gun emplacements.

The walk to Fort Nepean from the Quarantine Station carpark is approximately 4.5km. We’ll walk one way and take the shuttle bus back. Then have a BYO picnic/bbq lunch at the Quarantine Station around midday-ish.

If you don’t feel like walking, there’s a hop on hop off shuttle bus that can pick you up along the way. (Cost is $12/person or $8 concession)

Meet us at the Quarantine Station Carpark at 10am this Saturday.

Friends and family very welcome.
Bring your own picnic/bbq lunch which we’ll have at the quarantine station bbq area around 12.30.
