CALLING ALL MEMBERS!
20 November 2021 – OPENING DAY
YES, it has finally arrived, so we intend to celebrate the opening of our new season!
The Plan:
From 0930 – assemble outside the entrance, in no particular order, Power and Sail
From 1000 – the fleet will be piped into the marina and lead by the Coast Guard to “M” arm where the Committee boat will take the salute and cheer member’s boats and crews
From 1200 – after returning to our pens, we will assemble at the BBQ area adjacent to the Boatramp where we will have the opening ceremony, including an acknowledgment to country, the Blessing of the Fleet, Welcome, and Opening speech by Councillor Celi, our local Ward Councillor, and then an outline of what we have planned and the prize ceremony – see below!
From about 1230 – let the BBQ begin!
Members will need to bring:
- BYO Meat/Seafood for the BBQ
- BYO Picnic Chairs and Table if you want
- BBQ – the BBQ at the pavilion is not operative, so BYO BBQ if possible!
- BYO drinks/beverages
MCYS will be providing:
- Welcome nibbles
- Salads
- Jacket Potatoes
COST: Free/Gratis/$0!
This is going to be a fun day, and a celebration of back to boating!
Prizes will be awarded for:
- The best dressed Boat – Power
- The best dressed Boat – Sail
- The best dressed Crew
